I had no idea what heuchera was until googled. The version I have is the Coral Bells I moved here from Mom's last fall. I separated hers into several plants. Gave Kristi some and I have 4 or 5 - all growing great and just about to bloom. I love them because not only are the flowers pretty, the leaves are also showy. I would say go for them. I might even see if our nurseries have the orange/creme version.
CAS - your comments are so sweet. You make me blush!

Bearish- it looks so beautiful, and really does look like it has been a part of the landscape for a while (not an easy trick).

With personal experience, I can say, with the soil in your hands, the art in your fingers, and the confidence in your soul that you grow more and more like you mum as the the years pass.

Both are truly beautiful.

Thanks, Mom, I'm glad you like it! We're very pleased with it--especially with the way it pulls the whole front together. I think it'll be even better when we get the irises in there. The pansies are sweet, but a little mannered; irises will be grand and lush.

At the nursery today, I discovered a plant that looked like orange/russet autumn leaves, called heuchera--do you have any experience with it? It was SO beautiful--I'm gonna have to figure out a good spot for it and go back to get it.

Wow Kari - Not only are your flower beds beautiful, you honor me with your words.
I am amazed at how the flower beds look like they have been there a long time. I love the curb appeal they add to your house. Good job Kari & Ken!
p.s. I love the chainsaw picture Ken posted.
